Thought i should have made it by now…..

July 12th, 2009 Posted in Ida Yard | 15 Comments »

I told myself that i would finnish this route by the time Ida would be born……. I was wrong.

Ida was born Three weeks early, This thursday at 02.55 at night. A healthy little girl.

However, The work on the route goes on, but with less time available.

I still have plans on releasing this one, but i cannot promisse a date yet.  I thought about bringing in another person to do some work, but no deals are made yet.

I am now enjoying my three weeks summer holiday from work, so i should have a lot done these days.

I bring a few shots from the latest work, the industrial branch, leading back to Ida yard.

End of the month update.

June 30th, 2009 Posted in Ida Yard | 8 Comments »

I’m sorry there hasnt been much updating on the blog this month, but sickness and real life are demanding their share of my  time.

I have now decided to stop adding boards to the route, and deal with the ones thats there. I did however find room for a small industrial branchline, with 8 industries, just to get some more cars to handle in the yard.

Ida is still not born yet, so theres time…….

The new branch is still under progress, and infact theres not many pictures taken there yet.

Other News:

I think its time to announce that my membership and co-operation with Frank (Sporbust) over at WCT is now brutally terminated.

I have supported Frank and his ideas through the years, Never complained, and done the job he wanted me to do, but he has started acting weird lately.

I cannot work with an adult man who just wanna hang out with young boys and who believes that members of all other forums is after him, and wants to destroy his ideals. This is not healthy over time….

This has been going on for a while, and after a short argument this morning, my membership was terminated.

I’m not angry about this in any way, since the entire thing is about a videogame.

Still, i will warn potential WCT members about joining forces with this man, it will lead to no good.

Ida Yard Update

June 14th, 2009 Posted in Ida Yard, Santa Maria Route | 8 Comments »

Finally all tracks are placed, switches are in place and the fun part begins.

As most of you know, this is the most time-consuming part of the progress, but yet the best.

I’m still awaiting  a few custom contents, but theres plenty of work to do without it.

I will, within a few weeks ask for a few guys to have a run at the yard, and seek errors and things that needs a fix.

Other news:

I am now setting up the new forum, it’s still under construction, but open for the public  http://gaurc.us/forum/index.php

Another week, another shot…..

May 28th, 2009 Posted in Ida Yard | 6 Comments »

Ida Yard is growing fast.

I decided to add a few more industries, mostly Tofc and Container industriy. No huge yard is complete without some Autohubs either, so there will be plenty.

I bring a few more Detailed shots now, and promisse to have more and new shots next time.

Just a sideproject….

May 9th, 2009 Posted in Ida Yard | 10 Comments »

First of all:

Thank you to all of those who downloaded my Smvrr Route,  to all of you who left comments in my blog, and last to those of you who still subscribe to my blog, you are my inspiration.

After the succesful release of the Smvrr, i decided to do something else for a while.
So here’s my new idea.
Some of you might know of  My route Emma Yard, wich is named after my now 2 year old daughter.
In July, Emma is getting a babysister, so we need to make a new yard for her too.

I present Ida Yard:

ida-2

Ida  Yard will be a fully functional Flat switching yard, with several maintenance facilities

First it was ment to be a Hump yard, but the grades was killing me.

I will also include a decent amount of working industries in the layout, such as Tofc, Cofc and  car hubs.

The yard will be loosely based on ideas from Tachereau Yard in Montreal, canada, but other ideas will also be included.

I will use the same detail level here as i do in my other layouts.

Ideas will be much appriciated.

Santa Maria Valley Railroad v1 Release Notes

April 25th, 2009 Posted in Santa Maria Route | 18 Comments »

smvrrcover480

This route is not my first release, but its the largest one. It has been a long and interesting  journey, beginning from the first day I decided to work on it.

Many thanks to Mr. Dave Jennings, General Manager of the real SMVRR, who provided me with lots of needed information along the way, and who continues to this day.

I also had help from the City of Santa Maria, California with locating some of the industries and general information.

I have tried to keep the detail level to a point where everybody could run it. Unfortunately, no computers are alike, and some people will experience reduced frame-rates. Everything in the distance from tracks has been removed, due to graphics considerations.

I have decide to make this route available as freeware, to Registered GAURC Members. Don’t panic, registration is easy and (most importantly) free.

There is a discussion and support board setup at our Forum, moderated by myself.

Some freeware assets will need to be downloaded from the Auran Trainz Download Station (DLS). Much of the content is non-DLS, but I have gotten permission from some of the creators to include their assets in my route download pack.

1) Download the (219,495kb) SMVRR Route Pack.

2) Download additional freeware assets from the creators:

ProtoLars Megapack
Trainz Pro Routes. Registration required.

Greenery.name
Get all the vegetation, tracks and track textures on pages 1 and 2.

HO TTrainz – Hungary
Get the FMA stuff under Painted Grace in Industrie section. Registration Required.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R Pack
Abandoned vehicles; state of the art stuff.

Material Handlers
Get pack numbers 3 and 5.

I actually had permission to include the next ones in my route pack, but I decided to let the great guys at USLW earn some visitors.  I wish to thank them all for creating these assets.

Many thanks to Neoklai, who allowed me to include his awesome animated creations in my route pack.

My beta-testers on this one were: RGoodell, Jankvis, David and Tonny Jensen… they all did a great job.

There are so many more I would like to thank, but I can’t list them all here; none mentioned-none forgotten.

I hope you enjoy running the route, as much as I enjoyed creating it.

The story goes on…

April 18th, 2009 Posted in San Luis Obispo Rail Corridor | 7 Comments »

A few weeks back, i sent The Santa Maria route to betatesting.  Something needs a fix, and dependensies needs to be located.

I am working on the final touch now, and expect the route will be released within next weekend.

As you might know, doing nothing is quite boring, so i needed a new story to tell….

Actually, next route is allready in progress.
I am now working on the Route from Lompoc to Salinas

This is the Line that The Smvrr route connects to at Guadalupe.

I am making it as an Easy fit to Santa Maria route, so you guys can easy join them together in time.

All the DEM’s for this route is allready finnished, so now its “Just” everything else left.

In My progress i now arrived at Grover Beach, between Guadalupe and San Luis Obispo. Landscape is now changing, as well as the terrain. More Grades and less buildings.

I bring a few shots:
